The company
Our client is a trusted market leader – manufacturing and supplying high quality cleaning and hygiene solutions.
As part of a large Australian/New Zealand company, this business unit has a strong focus on providing for a healthy and safe work environment for all stakeholders, as well as ensuring compliance to both Australian and New Zealand legislation.
The role
This position will be based at the Auckland site but will involve travel to the Christchurch and Australian sites as required.
It is anticipated that you will have significant experience within the chemical industry, in order to conduct a gap analysis of current systems. Following a robust review, you will then have the relevant experience in order to develop and ensure continuous improvement processes are in place for all health, safety and environmental; policies, procedures, etc.
Duties
- Effective review and development of all required policies, processes and procedures, covering all sites in both NZ and Australia
- Ensure compliance with legislation
- Provide assistance and advice i.e. Hazard/Risk Management programme
- Reporting requirements both internal and external
- Utilise networks to provide innovative/best practice initiatives
- Ensure learnings are shared throughout the organisation and buy in is gained
- Work in a preventative and proactive manner in order to reduce incidents
- Lead investigations to ensure accurate root cause is determined
- Take the lead, engage and educate, influence and motivate
Skills and experience
- Tertiary qualification required
- Experience in similar environment preferred – strong chemical knowledge
- Significant process and system implementation experience
- Ability to self-manage, identify and manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong skillset in building solid and sustainable relationships
- Attention to detail, outcome focussed, with a genuine and positive approach
- Excellent communication skillset, both written and verbal
